[yourNEWS.com] Newly released data indicates that nearly one million people in England have little or no proficiency in English, highlighting the challenges posed by mass migration policies over the past several decades. According to figures from the UK Statistics Authority, one in ten migrants over the age of 16 struggles to speak English, with The Sun reporting that 8.6% of migrants in England speak English poorly, while another 1.4%, or approximately 137,876 individuals, do not speak the language at all.
The data, disclosed by the previously governing Conservative Party, further reveals that just 51.6% of migrants over the age of 16 consider English their primary language, while 38.4% claim to speak it well. The statistics were collected during the 2021 census, meaning that the number of non-English speakers has likely increased due to record-breaking migration figures in subsequent years. Net migration to the UK reached 872,000 in 2022 and 866,000 in 2023, despite previous government promises to reduce immigration levels following Brexit.
